<div itemprop="description">Peacefully on February 13, 2015 at the vibrant age of 92 Sophie passed away to be reunited with her husband Jerry after 10 years apart.<br />Along with her husband Jerry she was predeceased by her brother Michael, sisters Mary, Anne, Pauline, Helen and Polly. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Rose Pochinko, many nieces and nephews along with her stepchildren Allan (Dianna) White, Bonnie (Ray) Tremain, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many special friends.<br />Sophie was born March 12, 1922 in Poplar Park MB, she was one of eight children to Anastasia &amp; John Phillips. As a young girl she grew up on the family farm and would look forward to Saturday evening dances. In 1952 she met the love of her life Jerry and they married February 5, 1955 sharing 49 beautiful years together. They lived life to the fullest. They called England home for a short time before they settled into Toronto for 29 years. It was there Sophie enjoyed a successful career with Warner Lambert. Her retirement brought them home to Winnipeg to enjoy time well spent with family and friends. Sophie enjoyed so much in life. Music and dancing was sure to make her smile, she enjoyed her nights at the Legion dancing the night away or a Saturday evening of cards with family. After Jerry&rsquo;s passing she would often spend her time shopping or on casino trips with her sisters and nieces. She also enjoyed a few trips to California visiting family.<br />A special Thank You to Dr. Ahmed at CCMB, the Palliative Care Program, the staff at SBGH Palliative Care Unit especially her friends Charlotte &amp; Ernie who would share their love of music with her during her final days. <br />Funeral service will be held Saturday February 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul.<br />In lieu of flowers family wishes a Memorial donation be made to Cancer Care MB, Hospice &amp; Palliative Care MB or a Charity of one&rsquo;s choice.<br /><br /></div>
