Scott Warren Smith
1973 – 2016

Scott Warren Smith passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, March 2 after a sudden but brief illness.

Scott was born on April 25, 1973. Scott grew up in Transcona and remained a Transcona boy all his life. After a devastating industrial accident in 1993, Scott recovered from losing his leg and went on to a new career in drafting. He found his work home at 17 Wing Canadian Air Force Base as their line locator. His family though took priority in all aspects of his life as a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He enjoyed all the camping outings with his boys, his brothers and his friends, and took great pleasure in joining all the activities.

Scott was predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn.

He is survived by his loving wife Annie, and his sons Ryan and Aidan. Scott is also survived by his father Wayne (Edith) Smith of Carman; mother Angel (Danny) Wicharenko of Whitemouth; parents-in-law Bill (Dianne) Baker of Kenora; grandmother Denise Mestdagh of Winnipeg; brothers Tim of Steinbach, Sean (and nephews Connor and Sawyer) of Winnipeg; younger brothers Neil and Graham; sister Rachel of Carman; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and many special friends.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion for Scott and our family in the most trying circumstances.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital.
