He worked hard at various jobs before becoming a milkman in Winnipeg. After a few years, he applied to the Winnipeg School Division #1 where he stayed until he retired. Once their children were grown, Dad and Mom began to travel. Their travels took them as far north as Alaska and Northwest Territories and as far south as Hawaii with many stops in between. After his family, Rudy loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, the Maple Leafs, the Jets, and the Blue Jays.

Rudy leaves to mourn his devoted true love of 61 years, Bernice, their daughters Charlene (Drew), and Cindy (Brad), granddaughters Victoria (Gavin) and Vanessa, his sister Helen Trafiak, numerous sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
