It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Mom and Baka, Mira Pisker.

As Mom, Mira will be lovingly remembered by her children Annie Brayley, Suzie McIntosh and husband Gord, Johnny Pisker and his wife Kathy-Ann and as Baka by her beloved grandchildren: Mathew, Justine, Octavia, Hailee and Darian. She is also remembered dearly by her sister, Vikica in Germany with her daughter Ljiljana, her brother Marion with his wife Gina and their children Mario and Dolores in Austria and family in Croatia. Respectfully remembered by Ivan. She is predeceased by her parents Elizabetta and Pavao David.

Mira was born June 29th, 1936 in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina. Mira and Ivan fled Communist Yugoslavia; they were married in Austria in 1958 the same year they immigrated to Canada. She worked for several different offices over the years and Kildonan East High School as a Custodial Engineer.

Baka loved going to the cottage with her family and all their friends. She was famous for her cookies and strudel. Everyone always looked forward to Christmas Eve for her seafood soup and sarme (cabbage rolls). She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and her greatest joy was spending time with them.

We would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place Nursing Home. In honour of Mira donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society in lieu of flowers or a charity of your choice.
