Michael Tymchuk
August 2, 1925 – June 21, 2016
Peacefully with family by his side Michael passed away at Concordia Hospital.
Mike was predeceased by his wife Jean of 66 years who passed away on May 9, 2016; by his parents John and Teenie; brother Adam and special brother-in-law Borden and Mike’s beloved dog Tammy.
Mike is survived by daughter Valerie, son Grant (Kim); granddaughters Jacqueline (Tyler), and Kristen (Tyler); very special sister-in-law and friend Phyllis, numerous nephews and nieces.
Their great love began while volunteering at a church function and soon after they were married and began their life together. In their 66 years Mike and Jean enjoyed many trips to Hawaii, Puerto Vallarta, Branson and many casino bus trips with family and friends.
Mike spent 38 years with Manitoba Hydro as an Information Writer and Photographer retiring in 1983.
After retirement Mike continued his love of photography with Sam The Cameraman.
During his lifetime Mike had strong love of photography, focusing on weddings. He would develop his own black & white photos in his home dark room with daughter Val; the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a season ticket holder for 44 years with son Grant. He enjoyed every moment he spent with his granddaughters.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor at Concordia Hospital for their special care of Mike.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Darcy’s ARC (Animal Shelter).
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St.
A Heart of Gold
A heart of gold stopped beating
Working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Leaves and flowers may wither,
The golden sun may set
But the hearts that loved you dearly
Are the ones that won’t forget.
