Mary Eileen Nichols
(nee Kelsch)

Peacefully with her family by her side, Mum left us to be with Dad on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.

Mum will be deeply missed by her children Bill (Val), Greg, Gary, Ed (Tracey), Mark (Shannon), Carol (Paul), her grandchildren Charla Posthumus, Christy, Curtis, Courtney Lechman (Jeremiah), Kyle (Afton), Chelsea Nichols, Jessica and Ryan Brown, and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Katie, Ashley Posthumus, Cherine Nichols, and Everley Lechman. Left to also cherish her memory is her sister Theresa Dudeck (Noel), brothers Raymond (Barb) and Gordie Kelsch as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mum was predeceased by her father John Kelsch, her mother Mary Baier, her step-mother Edna Kelsch, her brothers John and Ed, and sisters Nora and Betty, and her grandson-in-law Dave Posthumus.

Mum was born January 12, 1930. She spent her early years growing up in the North End. Her family eventually moved to West Kildonan, where she met the love of her life Dad; where they built the family home and raised their 6 children.

Mum loved spending time with her family, grandkids, spending time at the family cottage and especially baking; the cookie jar was never empty.

Our Mum was the matriarch of our family. We will miss our daily conversations with her, taking her out and most importantly Mum listening to us and her love she shared towards all of us.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Avenue on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00am.

The family wishes to thank Winnipeg Paramedics, Seven Oaks Emergency, HSC, the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital 5th floor Unit 5 for their kindness and compassion. Many thanks to Dr. Orla Klassen for taking care of Mum over the years.

“God bless you Mum, Granma, Great Granma. You will be truly missed by us. We love you lots and will carry you in our hearts forever.”

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
