<div itemprop="description">Suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2017, Manuel passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 73 years with family by his side. <br> <br>Manuel will be lovingly remembered by wife Maria, children, Jose (Ermelinda) and Elizabete (Dan) Raposo, grandchildren, Nuno (Kat) Luciano, Andrew, Ramiro, Ashley (Ethan) Zacharias, Stephanie (Nathan) Allan, Amber (Harvinder Sran), Joshua, Siara, great grandchildren, Christina, Miguel and Leonidas, mother Maria dos Prazeres, sisters, Jeus, Lucilia (Manuel), Isabel (Americo), and Julia (Anibal) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Manuel was predeceased by his father Jose. <br> <br>Manuel was the eldest of five children, born and raised in Paraduca Calde, Viseu, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in February of 1974 and was joined by his family later that year. He was a hard worker who wanted nothing more than to support his family and provide the best life possible for them. He was greatly loved by his family and will be dearly missed. <br> <br>Viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017; Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with viewing 1 hour prior to service at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Pastor Elton DaSilva and Pastor Elizeu DaSilva officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Manuel to a charity of one's choice. <br> <br>Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca <br> <br> "You'll forever be in our hearts."</div>
