1925 – 2016
On Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, Lucy Olfrey passed away peacefully at the age of 90.
She is predeceased by her husband Donald Olfrey, her daughter Linda Leclerc, sisters Eva, Cecelia, and Carrie, and brother Ted.
She is survived by her brothers Frank and George Golembioski; sister Florence Standen; daughters Bonnie (Ken) Dayment, Shirley (Ben) Bremaud, and Claire Olfrey. Also left to miss her are her son-in-law Aurel Leclerc, and good friend Kevin Janes. Surviving grandchildren include Tami (Gil) Ross, Kelly Dayment, Donald Bremaud, Zar Fergstad, Sheri Leclerc, Cindy Leclerc, and Tracy (Rob) Dill. Lucy also had ten great-grandchildren Hunter, Bentley, Everest, Melissa, Cassandra, Madison, Savanaugh, Caurel, Colton, and Camryn.
Lucy proudly served as a parachute packer in the Armed Forces during WWII where she met and married Donald Olfrey in 1945 and raised their family in Winnipeg.
Special thanks to the staff at the Convalescent Home for taking such great care of Mom over the last few years.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Viewing will be held prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
