<div itemprop="description">John Huta <br>1924 – 2016 <br> <br>The family of John Huta are saddened to announce his passing on May 2, 2016 at Crocus Court Personal Care Home in Roblin, MB, where he had been a resident for the past two years. <br> <br>John was born on November 5, 1924 on a farm in the Silver Creek Municipality near Angusville, MB to Charles and Sophie Huta (nee Gensorek). <br> <br>Dad was very proud that he had completed grade 12. At that time, it was quite an accomplishment. He returned to the farm when his mom was ill. <br> <br>Dad married Cassie Buhay in August 1951. They moved to Kelwood, MB where they began a small business. Sonya was born there in 1954. After a fire destroyed their business, they moved to Winnipeg and Wesley was born there in 1955. <br> <br>Dad was employed at the Post Office, H & R Block, and various other companies. He was very passionate about the Injured Workers Association of Manitoba which he founded. <br> <br>Dad loved playing cards, travelling, socializing, and playing bingo. <br> <br>Dad is survived by his daughter Sonya (Vern Effa), and their three children Breanne (Garett Beres), Scott (Jessie Toffan), and Darla (Taylor Lang). Dad was so proud of his five great-grandchildren, Grady, Baylee, Stevie, Tobbi, and Taylor. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his wife Cassie in 2000; his son Wesley in 2006; brothers Mike, Nick, Tony, Steve, and Harry; sisters Eva Lesirek and Annie Boryskavich. <br> <br>He is survived by sisters Jean Komaransky and Mary Boryskavich; as well as many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Prayer service will be held Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment and reception will follow. <br> <br>Donations may be made to Crocus Court Personal Care Home, Activity Area, Roblin, MB R0L0P0. <br> <br></div>
