The loving family of Jean Kushniruk regretfully announces her passing on February 23, 2016, peacefully at home with her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill and daughter, Barb.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Donna MacKay (Greg), grandchildren Christopher (Sarah) and Kayla (Ben) and the family dog Kaci, as well as her twin sister Nell Joslin and sister Sophie Mackie both of Orillia, ON, and numerous nieces and nephews across the country.

Jean was born December 27, 1923 in Dauphin, MB and married Bill Kushniruk on November 15, 1953 in Canora, SK, where they lived until they moved to Winnipeg in 1956.

Jean is eternally in the hearts of everyone she's met and is fondly remembered for her infectious personality, talent playing the mouth organ and unlimited energy. She dearly loved to laugh and make others laugh (even at her own expense) and could always put a smile on even the most somber face. After retiring from work, she spent her time babysitting, making the best perogies in Manitoba, playing Wii bowling and riding the swing chair at the cottage.

At age 76, Jean accomplished the impossible by tackling every ride at Disney World with her grandchildren! Even in her last weeks, Jean constantly worked to bring cheer to those around her entertaining her roommates and visitors at the hospital.

Despite her small stature, she always stood tall in the room.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 20 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the West Kildonan Memorial Community Centre. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Donations, if so desired, may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca
