Harold Westberg
April 1, 1934 - March 19, 2015
I entered this world on Easter Sunday April 1, 1934 and on March 19, 2015, I finally rounded third and reached home with no regrets. Corinne, my wife of over 50 years, is waiting for me in the stands in our “field of dreams”.
I leave behind my children, Kathleen (Jim), Alison (Rob) and Glen (Roxanne), our greatest accomplishments, and our two granddaughters, Mickeely and Sophie, who will be still looking for the goodies Grandpa hid on his last visit. I wish for them not to be sad, but to remember the good times.
I also have been surrounded by wonderful friends and family and their friendship and support has been truly appreciated.
Game Called
Upon the field of life
the darkness gathers far and wide,
the dream is done, the score is spun
that stands forever in the guide.
Nor victory, nor yet defeat
is chalked against the player’s name.
But down the roll, the final scroll,
shows only how he played the game.
…Game Called, Grantland Rice, 1910
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations can be made to the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
A Private Celebration of Life for friends and family to be held at a later date, for info contact Glen Eden Memorial at 338-7111
