With family and friends by his side, our beloved son, brother and uncle, FREDERICK DAVID TAYLOR IV passed away at home on March 25, 2016 at the age of 25.
He will be sadly missed by his parents Fred and Laurel, best friend Kaino, sisters Alicia Carriere (Luke Carriere), Stephanie Taylor (Joel Gartner) and Kathleen Taylor (Erik Waenink). Frederick remains in the hearts of his young nephews Dante, Connor and Vayden, as well as a large group of extended family and friends. He was looking forward to becoming an uncle for the 4th time with the birth of his niece or nephew in May.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Gerald (1998) and Margaret Ann (2014) Baker, Frederick II(2005) and Irene (2015) Taylor.
Frederick was born on April 5, 1990. He attended Narol Nursery School, Bird’s Hill Elementary, Robert Andrews and Miles Mac, where he made many lifelong friends. In his short 25 years, Frederick enjoyed numerous sports and hobbies including snowboarding on the slopes of the Canadian Rockies and Springhill Winter Park with friends, skateboarding, fishing and biking through Bird’s Hill Park with his beloved dog Kaino. His love for the outdoors started at an early age riding “the green tractor” and being allowed to cut the backyard. In 2007 Frederick joined forces with his dad in the family landscape maintenance business. His passion for the environment and outdoors continued, when in 2014 he graduated from the Greenspace Management program at Red River College, and in that same year he started Sustainable Organic Solutions which focuses on the environment and organic soil health amendments.
Frederick started snowboarding in his teens at Springhill, which led to him working there during the winter months. He started in the equipment rental area, working his way up to terrain park and groomer operator. It quickly became his ‘Winter Home’. Frederick’s love for his nephews was evident in everything they did together. He taught them how to drive the tractors, took them through the backyard on the Ranger, and taught them how to snowboard and skateboard. He had an unmatched zest for life that kept him grounded. He touched the hearts of everyone around him; our lives will forever be changed without him. SOAR IN ADVENTURE FREDERICK! SIA.
The family would like to thank the many people that helped with his care while he was at home. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Dante and Vayden Carriere, Connor Taylor-Bergmann, and friends Jesse Williams, Jesse Walker, Michael Fast, and Joel Pajak.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in Frederick’s name to the Never Alone Foundation. Donations can be made online at www.neveralonefoundation.ca.
A celebration of Frederick’s life will take place on April 8, 2016 at 11:00am at Gordon King Memorial United Church located at 127 Cobourg Avenue in Winnipeg.
Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca
