<div itemprop="description">Frances Johnstone <br />(nee Greig) <br /> <br />Peacefully on December 23, 2013 with family by her side Fran Johnstone passed away at the age of 90 at Concordia Hospital. <br /> <br />Fran will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Joyce Okrainec and her children Becky and Marshall Okrainec; son Rob (Cindy) Johnstone and their son Brian Johnstone; and son-in-law Ken Okrainec. Fran is also survived by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Lutz and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Lillian Greig; and her husband William (Bill). <br /> <br />Fran was born on August 4, 1923 in Winnipeg, MB, where she was raised. On August 28, 1948 she married Bill Johnstone. Fran and Bill moved their family to East Kildonan in March of 1960 and Fran lived there up until her passing. Fran developed relationships that she cherished deeply, through work at Eatons and even recently while attending day hospital at Concordia. Fran&rsquo;s greatest joy was watching her grandchildren grow and flourish. Her favourite pastimes were knitting, reading, bowling and watching curling. <br /> <br />A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:00 am at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. <br /> <br />The family would like to send out a special thank you to Cindy and Barry Reimer for everything that they had done for Fran over the years, it was truly appreciated. The family would also like to thank the staff on the 3rd Floor at Concordia Hospital and Dr. Karen Lage for the care that they had shown Fran over the past two weeks. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers donations in Fran&rsquo;s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. <br /> <br />A heart of gold stopped beating, <br />Working hands at rest, <br />God broke our hearts to prove to us, <br />He only takes the best, <br />Leaves and flowers may wither, <br />The golden sun may set, <br />But the hearts that loved you dearly <br />Are the ones that won&rsquo;t forget. <br /></div>
