It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our dear mother Deanna at the age of 79.

Deanna was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Anne Winter, as well as her husband of 44 years, Bernie Terlecki.

Left to mourn her passing are her four children, Marlon (Lek) Terlecki, Tannis (Shawn) Madec, Dawnie (Neil) Buchannon, and Linda (Dino) Plawucki.

Deanna has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Tara (Jason) Di Bartolo, their children, Kenadie and Ryder, Lindsay (Warren) Sukich, their children Colton and Brett, Trevor Terlecki and Ryan and Jamie Plawucki.

Mom is also leaving her four brothers; Jack, Stew, Ken and Billy of the Winter family, and Marlene, who was the sister she never had. As well she leaves three sisters-in-law, all whom which she loved so dearly. Amazingly with all the distance between them, you couldn’t find a closer family.

Mom was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan but moved a number of times with her family. She met our father “Bernie” in Biggar, Saskatchewan and married him in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Throughout the years they lived in Dauphin and Winnipeg.

Mom had a number of jobs throughout her life, as our dad would often get laid off with the railroad. She was a “when the times get tough, the tough get going” kind of lady. She did everything from weld buses in the 70’s (when women didn’t weld) to cleaning fish at the fish plant and some retail jobs, but her favorite was her last job, “Gramma Daycare”. Linda and Dino will be eternally grateful for all that she did.

Our mother was an excellent cook, but her most precious love was her family. Nothing made her happier than sitting around with her family over a wonderful meal laughing with everyone. She felt so lucky to have us, but we were the lucky ones.

The things that stand out about our mother are her selflessness and the ability to see the good in everyone. Life wasn’t always easy for her, but she was always positive and put a smile on her face for all who she met. She was generous to a fault. Our family will never be the same.

A special thank you to Doug and Anna Stein, Ken and Marilyn Hauser, who always seemed to be there for mom when we couldn’t be. They were the best of friends.

“Love Ya Mom”
