<div itemprop="description">Carole Joan Kenning <br> <br>Carole Joan Kenning (nee Gallo), age 72, passed peacefully on June 18, 2016 at home in her Winnipeg Manitoba after a struggle with a complicated illness. Carole was born July 18, 1943, in Victoria BC at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the daughter of Joseph Gallo and Carmen San Filippo. Her family moved to Manitoba when Carole was 3 months old, she grew up in Norwood- St. Boniface. <br> <br>Prior to marriage Carole worked for MTS, and the Federal Government department of transport. <br>In 1969, Carole married the love of her life James Dirk Kenning. In 1973 they moved into their home in the North Kildonan area. Here, they raised a family and build a strong loving community of support, of which; Carole was the glue. <br>In addition to raising their two children; Tracey Linn and Daniel Dirk James; Carole was involved in many community and church groups. Carole believed strongly in the democratic process, working for elections at the civic, provincial and federal levels in numerous roles. <br> <br>Family and friends were Carole’s passion and delight. Everywhere Carole went, she made a friend; and knew how to grow that connection. Carole understood the importance of relationships, connections and reciprocity. Always a loving, honest and generous partner, mother, sister, god mother and friend. <br> <br>Carole was an active member for 47 years of John Black memorial United Church. She joined the church alongside James in 1969, then married. Devoted to her faith, Carole also served on several boards and committees, was a trustee, and chaired the UCW and 100th anniversary committee. <br> <br>Carole is predeceased by her son Daniel, parents Carmen and Joseph Gallo , brother James Gallo , in-laws Dirk and Mary kenning and several sister and brother –in-laws. Carole is survived by her husband James, daughter Tracey, son-in law Shayne, sister Rosemary , brother in-law Ron. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. <br> <br>The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness, either at home or in hospital. <br> <br>A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 25, 2016, 11 am at John Black Memorial United Church. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at a later date. Memorial donations can be sent in her name to John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Highway. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
