It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Brian Hardy, at the age of 88, on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Grace Hospital with family at his side.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mina Hardy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley, his 4 children, Carol, Wendy (Ted), David (Sarah) and Val (Lorne); his brother Ralph (Shirley); grandchildren Rob (Nikki), James, Neil, Tim (Lorianne), Jill (Brian), Michael (Brittany), Luc and Shea; great-grandchildren Jackson, Jordan, Jeremy, Everett and Avery.

Brian was born and raised in West Kildonan where he met Shirley to whom he was happily married to for 68 years. His employment began at an early age with various companies, including Western Flyer and Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1959 he joined the West Kildonan Fire Department where he proudly served till his retirement from the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1988. Through his various jobs he met many of his lifelong friends. Brian enjoyed being involved at West Kildonan Curling Club where he curled and served as president. He was handy and helpful, mischievous and had a saying for everything. He loved children. His greatest joys were family gatherings and the cottage at Caddy Lake.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of TCU in the Grace Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Brian. We would also like to thank Dr. Ip and the caring staff on the 3rd floor.
