Bonnie Carolynn Plouffe
October 6, 1947 - January 3, 2016
BONNIE CAROLYNN PLOUFFE (nee WATSON)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Carolynn Plouffe (Watson), 68, on January 3, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital, after a brave battle with cancer. Bonnie will be greatly missed by her husband Derek; children Adam (Lana) and Robin (Rob); grandchildren Chase, Riley, Elliot, Fynn and Oliver; sister Sharon Fielding (Jim) as well as numerous relatives and friends. Bonnie is predeceased by her parents Douglas Watson and Eileen (McRae) Watson. Bonnie was a dedicated teacher for 46 years. She taught in three different provinces and was well loved by both colleagues and students alike. Bonnie’s genuine care for her students was apparent as she often encountered former students remembering their grade one year with great fondness and detail. After retiring in 2012, Bonnie enjoyed both travel and more recently, pickleball, with her husband Derek, which garnered her new friends and acquaintances. Bonnie’s greatest legacy is her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and relished her role as grandmother to her five grandsons.
A Celebration of Life will be at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm. As per Bonnie’s request, donations can be made in her memory to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca or call 204-787-4143.
