ANNA VNUK
September 20, 1925 - April 13, 2014

It is with much sadness that we 10 children of Anna Vnuk announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother after a short illness on April 13, 2014 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her father Rudolf and mother Karoline, daughters Margaret and Lucy, granddaughter Dorothy and our father Adam. Left to cherish her memory are one brother Rudy, her 10 children Anna Marie (friend Stephen), Edward, Lisa, Betty (George), Susan (John), Irene (Brian), David (Colleen), Michael (Susanne), Peter and Jon (Nicolle), 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren. Mom was born in Czechoslovakia on September 20, 1925 and came to Canada in July, 1939 with her dad and mom and younger brother Rudy. They landed in Montreal and then travelled by rail to work on a small farm in Saskatchewan. After a short while they moved to Winnipeg where Mom and her mom both worked in a sewing factory. Mom met our Dad in 1942 and in July 1943 they got married. In 1946 they bought the family farm at Balmoral, MB. After raising 10 kids over the years, the farm was sold. Mom moved into an apartment block on Henderson Hwy. where she became a seamstress with over 600 customers. She made many friends and attended church at Calvary Temple as often as she could. She would babysit her many grandchildren and it was hard to let them go when we parents picked them up after work. Our Mom was the greatest, loving, caring mom in the whole world. The family wishes to thank the staff at Middlechurch Home and also the doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for Mom's care. Cremation has taken place. The church services will be held at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Glen Eden Memorial, 4477 Main St. at 1:30 p.m. April 26; phone 204-338-7111.
