She lived in Darlingford with her parents and siblings, where she went to school and worked on the family farm. After graduating high school, her father sent her to Business College in Winnipeg. Soon after college, she started working for the Province of Manitoba and remained there for 41 years.

Mom was able to enjoy many years of retirement. Her primary focus later in retirement, was caring for Dad as his health declined and he required care. Not only did Mom work full-time and raise three children, she also ran boarding houses in her early adult years. Some of her dearest family and friends met the loves of their life at the boarding houses. Mom was always smiling or giggling. Her laugh was infectious and made everyone around her smile. She was always willing to help family, friends and even strangers at a time of need. Mom loved to dance. She and her friends went dancing often. On the night Mom met Dad, she attended a dance with another fellow; Dad went stag, they left together and the rest is history.

Mom enjoyed needle pointing, crocheting, playing cards, travelling and camping. Spending time with family and friends was of utmost importance to her. She loved cooking up a feast for any occasion, her favourite being Ukrainian Christmas. Religion was important to Mom. Much later in life, she convinced Dad to join the United Church and they were baptized together on June 13, 2004.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 4, 2017, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
